Rest In Peace Pascal Lafontaine – Our BMX

Pascal Lafontaine has battled cancer for longer than any of us should ever have to. Despite losing his leg in 2015, he battled back to produce on of the best videos of 2019 (re-watch below) and was honored by Dig as their Rider Of The Year. Pascal wasn’t too vocal on social media about his battle, but he made a post in early June about selling “his last BMX bike ever”…obviously alluding to the fact that he only had a short time left. Unfortunately, he was correct… Ride in peace.

A statement from Pascal’s mother, Pierrette Tetreault, made the following statement… Please be aware that it’s been Google-translated from French to English.

My son Pascal Lafontaine left us yesterday afternoon. He left peacefully surrounded by his family. He fought his cancer with exceptional and extraordinary courage. He continued to receive treatment despite the great fatigue and pain that would cause him. He didn’t want to leave this life that he would hate so much.
We, his family, would like to thank all the people who have given Pascal words of encouragement and support during his last five years of fighting. Let’s remember that due to his cancer, Pascal suffered an amputation of his leg in 2015. He would have been 28 years old on July 20th.
